Lucy Beale
Lucy Beale (Melissa Suffield) is a strong-willed girl who's determined to find her own way in the world. Well, she is Cindy's daughter!
1993 Comes into the world with twin Peter two months premature.
1996 Mum Cindy runs away to Europe with Peter and Lucy's half-brother Steven, leaving her behind.
1998 Ian pretends she has cancer to emotionally blackmail his fiancée Mel into marrying him.
2005 Led astray by teen tearaway Stacey Slater. Kidnapped by Phil Mitchell, who is on the run and wants money. Makes life difficult for Ian's latest flame Jane, but finally warms to her.
2006 Sneakily gets drunk with schoolfriend Lauren at Jane's hen party.
2007 Gets involved with chippy assistant Craig, who's five years older than her, but soon realises she's out of her depth. Convinced she's having email conversations with her dead mum Cindy, until it turns out to be crazed half-brother Steven. Discovers that Steven has been holding Ian captive in a disused flat. Sees Steven shoot Jane.
2008 Runs away after her wild partying causes Ian to lash out. Steven convinces her that her family don't care about her. Ian finds her and persuades her to come home. Still not happy, she moves in with Christian Clarke, Jane's brother. Starts dating Olly Greenwood but Ian exposes him as a phony. Moves back home.
2009 Held hostage by Nick Cotton in the café. Escapes with other hostages when fire starts.
